morning all,

The ETCS yellow warning came on over the weekend and intermittently pops on when itsa being driven - ususally a little while after starting. Car seems to be running ok - did a 200 miles round trip on sunday with the ETS on.I may however have experienced one or two "jolts" over the past couple of weeks - that I may have attributed to potholes.

Been throught the forum a few times regarding the MAF/ ETM issues - my car is a '99 Mk1 XC & only done 80K , so I have to assume it comes within the age range for these problems to pop up.

What next XC experts ? Im going to replace the MAF anyway, as its relatively easy it sems and not too expensive - is a major ETM issue on its way ? I havent pulled the codes as I dont have a clue how to do this - should I ?

Any advice appreciated - a big job will effectively mean me losing the car, as it wont become economical to keep it running

cheers

ETM needs to be replaced. Not major, (except in dollars), it takes one hour and is just a part of 99-01 Volvo life.

Either go with a Volvo ETM or a permanent (and cheaper) solution from XeMODex
www.xemodex.com

Replace the MAF sensor at the same time
