Happened to notice a banner ad at the top of this forum area:

Sounds (smells?) like BS to me, and somewhat concerned that it would be posted here.

As a reality check, you can get a firmware boost of 25 HP on the recent T6 engines, and that will cost you ~$1500.

Anyone else know what's going on with that banner ad?

It's just Google targeted advertising, not a sponsored ad or anything. Most of them are junk!

I wouldn't trust a pop-up banner but as for believable increases for the T6, I could see higher than Polestar offers pretty easily.

My point of reference is my bmw e61 which also has a 3.0L inline 6 + 2x turbo. Although it is twin turbo and different design, it's oem numbers are similar at about 300hp/300 lb-ft.

When using the BMW approved Dinan ecu software, it went up to about 382 hp / 420 lb-ft with no loss in fuel economy as long as I'm driving for sake of fuel economy. But when I want to move, that torque really comes on strong and linear with the dual turbo design.

It seems Polestar is just being conservative to assure reliability and such, which is not a bad thing, but for $1500 I'd like to see a little more out of it.
