Hi everyone I just picked up a rear spoiler for my XC70 from my local wrecker in Sydney, it's in very good condition and better still same color(silver ) as my XC.
Just wondering were can I get a diagram / template for the four mounting spoiler bolts.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Frank

Lucky you! I am envious. Care to share how much you pay for it?

Yeah,
If you can hang on for a week or so, I just bought a new one which is out being painted.
It comes with plastic templates, some (very poor) directions, etc, but you should be able to figure it all out.
You are missing the very strong pieces of tape and the precut black tape strip to cover the old opening for the 3rd light, etc
You can have everything for shipping costs.
Shouldn't be very much

Hi JRL thanks for the quick response , I know I have seen some type of rear spoiler template it was either in this forum or some where else , I'm sure I'll be able to work something out and if not I will accept your offer thanks for that.

Hey XC70XC it's an original Volvo spoiler same color silver as my XC70, it was still on XC70 at wrecking yard,
I got it for $225 has all attachment nuts and cable with plug for the middle break light very happy with the purchase.

The name of the wreckers is ASV and they have branches all over Australia;Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth
Here there's email & phone number:

Be careful if you try to drill without a template
It MUST be exact or the bolts will not go in, the angles are weird so they must be precise

Instructions from Volvo:

http://accessories.volvocars.com/AccessoriesWeb/Accessories.mvc/en-GB/SE/V70%2800-08%29/2001/2.4T/Automatic/L.H.D/ShowDocument/ShowIiDocument/VCC-147983-1/V70_%2800-08%29,_2001

Having just done this, the inside of the hatch (once you remove the trim pieces) is premarked where you need to drill. You'll find crosshairs for the drilling points for the stop lamp cable and the two mounting bolts for each side.

Thanks Frank. Will think about it. Problem is that my car is in a rather rare color (Polarartic).
Keep us informed on your spoiler installation.

Hi everyone today I finished installing the rear spoiler, just as Huzer21 mentioned once the trim is off the tail gate the holes are pre-marked I just used a long drill bit (2mm pilot) to drill from inside-out, once through I used appropriate drill bits to finish the job it came up very well.

I never knew that the tailgate and the bonnet are made out of composite/ fibre?

I'll have to post some photos soon

Cheers

Installed and cosmetically my 07 is about done
If I switch to 17s that would be about the only other thing I would do.

Does anyone have the Volvo part number for the rear spoiler mounting bracket? I just purchased a used OEM one but need the kit. Is it totally necessary to have the template since there are crosshairs for drilling? I'd rather not take chances. Thanks in advance.

There are no brackets for a P2, just templates, NEW PRE-CUT, ULTRA THIN TAPE, the bolts, pre-cut block out tape for the original 3rd light, instructions, etc.
You can still buy a mounting kit from Volvo, about $43, I just did

Mounting kit part number is 30664143.

Just one of many places online to get it. http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-volvo/30664143

$43 seems steep for a few bolts and some double sided 3M tape. Is there anything special about the bolts/ washers?
Would anyone have the template laying around that I could buy or borrow? 😊
