Have a 2001 XC/70 with 85k miles. It has begun to hesistate when accelerating for the first 20-30 seconds after starting.
The car idles fine and runs fine after those first 20 seconds.
Any suggestions?
This just started a couple days ago and began with the engine cranking but not wanting to start. It started after a few times. Have not had that problem since, and here the fuel pump kick on everytime the key is turned.

Well aside ffrom the obvious "Don't drive it for 20 - 30 seconds"...not really, but the obvious culprits, like a dirty throttle body, or worn sparkplugs, are where I would start...

Along with what Astro said, check the battery voltage. My Sport hates when the battery has low voltage, all kinds of weird s**t happens.
I know my '99 GLT has a hesitation problem back in like '04 but that was also the same year I had to replace the transmission ([cussing] dealer robbing me) but I forget what they did to fix it.

Maybe problem with fuel pressure? Here is a link with some info.

Thanks for the responses. I replaced the fuel filter and everything has been working fine for a month. Not clear if that was the issue, but at least its gone away.

That's one thing I didn't think of, glad it worked!
