The last time I drove the car was ok, stoped engine like normal then later tried to start but no luck. the battery is new and everything else are working. When I try to start all I can hear is a click. I checked the voltage at the starter cable and read 12.6 volts. another thing I see is a small green and red wire with a butt connector that is loose I can't figure out where it connects to. but the lenght of it is close to the starter solenoid connector, but I can't see where it plugs.
I am taking out the starter to test it but can't get it out, does it have a 3rd bolt? I took off one on top right and one on the oposite end bottom. Vida does not provide info on how to remove.
can anyobody step in please?
Volky.

I've not done this job but did a little research for you. Seems like there are 2 bolts on the driver side and a bolt on a bracket on the passenger side.

Here is a pic of the bracket

Here is a pic of a 94 850. Not sure its the same but nice close up pic. The bracket link from above shows the same bracket from 850 to P2s.

Update: I took off the starter and checked it, it was good, found out the wire that was unhooked plugs next to the red wire and that was the reason for no start. had to take out fan shroud to take out the bolt that hold the bracket to the engine block.

Had the starter on the T5 rebuilt - very similar to the 850 (had to replace that one too, after a Volvo dealer in CT told me it was the flywheel...it wasn't, it was the drive on the starter...). On this car, though, I had to remove the charge air pipe from the turbo and the intercooler to get at everything...real PITA job...not many bolts, just lots of time...
