Hmmm -- nic pics Art and I'm sure you enjoyed the drive about in that glorious scenery.

Is that log thingy on wood wheels at the park entrance an old Volvo replica ? http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif That pic of yours with the log barrier kinda tells a story with the two XC70s in the background. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thanks for the comments Folks! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Barry,

Good eye! The image of the log bench/barrier didn't even occur to me until I read your post. Your inspiring commentaries never cease to amaze me. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif

BTW, the other XC belongs to Taylor if you haven't guessed by now! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Ruby,

Congrats and welcome back!

Glad you enjoyed the pics. We took them as we were making our way back home on the Bow Valley parkway. Bow Lake is just one of several glacial fed lakes that dot this stretch of highway between Banff and Jasper. A definite must see for anyone considering a visit to this part of the Alberta Rockies.

The wheels you asked about are 17" O.E.M. Sentinel wheels. The additional spokes make cleaning brake dust off a bit more of a chore, but overall I kinda think it's worth it. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Stunning pictures, Art. My wife and I have taken a number of city breaks for the last 18 months (exploring European culture) and have one more booked to do (Prague this winter). After that, it`s back to holidaying in the lakes and mountains - your photos make me very keen to get amongst that kind of natural beauty sooner rather than later.

Mine aren't quite as purdy, were taken extremely early in the morning on our drive out to Red Deer:

Nicely done Taylor! The peaks take on a whole different perspective when viewed at night. Gotta love Rogers Pass too. It's sheer ruggedness is awe inspiring. Never tire of it everytime we drive through! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
