cruise loss

on hwy ,pressed brake & heard clunk-total power, coast to shoulder,,restart ok runs ok but cruise is gone so what's up--help pleease:confused:

I have never experienced what you describe. BUt I have heard that when the cruise control kicks out, it can mean the ETM is failing.

ETM = electronic throttle module

Usually accompanied by the ETM light I believe, but possibly not always.

Read the codes if any, and talk to the dealer.

cruse control is part of the ABS , clean the connector to the master cylinder first , the ABS is under the fuses and a pain to get at and check .

What did you mean by "total power"?

did the engine quit running? Or did the cruise control disconnect?
