View Full Version : White crusty stuff around the joint between exhaust manifold, turbo and exhaust pipe

I replaced my radiator because I was loosing coolant and I found a leak on the side of it. It's all buttoned up and I'm still losing coolant. Got under the car to have a look see and there's white crusty stuff where the exhaust manifold pipe, the turbo and the exhaust join together. Is that a sign of a blown head gasket? I sometimes get some white smoke when the engine is cold and I start off, but not always. Can't find a leak, so I'm thinking head gasket. Also, what is a fair price for a head gasket replacement including labor? I looked at Matthews and saw what it take to do the job. I'm not up to it. Some times I just have to pay the expert.
Thanks.
