Broken wires in the tailgate harness are a known problem, see:

A feed wire touching a metal part can easily cause a short circuit. There are other tailgate lock problems,
but since there is also a blowing fuse, I think that the wiring is a reasonable suspect.

how about getting the tail gate opened? It is shut and locked. Every time I put a fuse in it blows as soon as i push the fob.
Thanks, Dave

Thanks for the info about the broken wires.
I went through the trim pieces and got to the wiring harness. I found them and it is just about all of them were broken
. I have mated the ones i know is correct. But there is three yellow wires broken and two small black ones I am not sure of.
I have fooled around trying different combinations, but to no avail. Is there another relay or fuse that controls the liftgate lock?
It seems that the fuse would blow again or unlock the tailgate if I hit the right wires or the wrong ones.
I hear a relay clicking when I try to unlock the locks with the fob.
Also is there ANY way to get this unlocked and opened.
I would buy another
harness if I could get the tail gate open to replace it.

Sure need some advice .
Thanks, Dave

Perhaps the schematics can be of help. The relay is item 2/87.
