Last week, my indie garage told me the bushings in the sway bar links on my 01 V70XC need replacing at 121,000 miles. The only way to do this is to replace the sway bar links. When checked my records, I see the front sway bars were replaced at 95K and the rear at 104K. This kind of wear in so few miles strikes me as excessive. How frequently should these bushings need to be replaced? The only other work done in this area was tie rods at 70K.

Never heard Anti Sway Bar worn out. Mine are still fine and my 03 XC has 185kkm.
I know sb upgrade theirs to IPD HD version, but that's for better handling.
Maybe your garage has special interest replacing Anti Sway Bars, :D.

Thanks.

He's talking about the sway bar link which can indeed worn out. This link is very easy to replace. I have a bad experience with the so called "Heavy duty" version which worn out in less than 30K miles. So, get the OEM part if you can.
