I stumbled across Elevate Performance (http://www.elevatecars.com/) this morning and they have a square poly upper-engine mount bushing!

Has anyone tried this yet? I am considering giving it a shot as it is less expensive then sourcing a round bracket and poly bushing, as I currently have the square mount.

I think some folks on SS have installed it. Seems to have the same effect as the round poly mounts. There was a group buy last summer, I believe.

New?

and these just bolt on to P2 cars to look like the '98-'00 V70?

I don't think we can get these new anymore.

The P2s had the round brackets for the first few years and then Volvo changed them to the square brackets to address design issues. Such that if you had an early P2 with a round one and had to replace the bushing, the dealer would replace it with a square one.

Both brackets for the P2 series mount the same way.

1999 thru 2004, 98 is different
Fit 99s thru 2007

You sure can
I just bought two (2) last week! I replaced an original 05 V70R round with the same round mount it came with.

I like them better for a couple of reasons.
The first is obvious, you can SEE when they go bad and (second) if the car is going to an enthusiast he (or she) has more choices if they want to install an aftermarket poly mount.
This particular R is a 6 speed so it's quite possible he will later on.

If you have a 99-02 a dealer will still replace it with a round one if you ask
Both will work

I have bought the round one, along with the poly bushing, from IPD.

Though, I will be honest, I replaced it with a square one (factory) because there was just too much vibration from the poly. I have the poly transmission torque mount as well...

I had to argue with my dealer to sell me the square one for my '04. Finally he called out a mechanic who agreed with me that the square one would fit and was the better choice, but the parts guy still refused to warrantee it.

That's just ridiculous...it's an updated part! They require other updates during recalls and the like, but refuse to sell you the updated part?

What's next? Volvo dealer refusing to sell me radial tires because I have a 1970 P-1800 and it came with bias-ply? Sheesh...

That parts counter guy is a moron...
