I'm shopping and I am noticing that quite a few of the cars I am seeing advertised, in the 2003-2006 age range, are for sale with the same mileage reading.

Is this significant, or a simple fluke?

Is this an age range for a particular service requirement or likely major repair? [pico]

They are being sold before the major expense of t-belt, tensioner and roller replacement coming up at 105k.

Unsuspecting buyers (nonvolvo enthusiasts) will keep driving them until the t-belt explodes, killing the engine and then they'll swear NEVER TO BUY A F***ING VOLVO AGAIN. :p

Thank you for the best laugh I've had all week. That is SO TRUE.

Those cars are all 5-8 years old, a little off the end of the warranty, and at prime time for people to think about new ones when they see the quote for the 100k-ish service.
