04 2.5T XC90 Throttle Body Cleaning

I am planning on cleaning the throttle body on my XC90 today or this week. I am going to attempt to do it without removing the intake manifold, but i have a new intake manifold gasket on hand in case i decide i have to do it.

One question I have is this : Does the TB need to be recalibrated or reprogrammed after removing it from the car? Or can I safely remove and re install the TB?

Anyone have any other advice?

after cleaning and re-installing TB turn on ignition and wait approx. 90 seconds and you will hear the throttle cycle as it does a calibration. You're done.

Cleaned the throttle body today and it cured all my idle problems...Was a pretty long procedure but cost me almost nothing and made a great improvement!

Can you post a description of the procedure? I need to do the same thing. Were you able to do it without taking the intake manifold off ? Thanks, Barry.
