I have a strange problem with the shifter on our 2004 XC70 with 53k miles. The shifter slips into geartronic if you barely brush it or even after just taking a corner or hitting a bump.
I popped out the panel around the shifter and can see that it may be as simple as a plastic lip on the shifter assembly has broken off allowing free horizontal motion from drive to geartronic.
Anyone know the part # for this assembly, and relative cost? Should I just try to rig something up myself to add some resistance back in there? Any risk to that?
