Dear XCer's

This may seem strange, but I just wanted to get a feel of international servicing costs. I have just put my 01 XC through a service at 32,000 miles. Standard cost from all the authorised UK service agents I contacted was 400 UK Pounds (about &#36757 US). How does this compare?

Here in Scottsdale, AZ they are about:

&#36150 for the 7500
&#36190 for the 15000
&#36450 for the 30000

There are dealer prices, and I tend to prefer the independent shops for the regular service.

Coastal, thats an excellent deal, no maintenance costs. I cringe everytime my wife tells me she need to bring the car in for scheduled maintenance. We just did the 22,500 mile service and it was about &#36125.00 ( a cheap one!) We are on a 7500 mile service schedule as per the dealer. I am curious if this is the norm, or if other dealers have owners coming in at 3000, 5000 or more?

Dan,

I'm on a 7500mi schedule too. Just hit 15k, so I'll let everyone know after I take her in.

Took the car in for it's 15,000k service around 5 months ago and was charged &#3698.93 Cdn. I was'nt as fortunate as Coastal and Mastiha in that I only received the first scheduled service for free. On the upside, however, I was given a brand new V70 T5 as a loaner for the day. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif With all the positive comments I've been hearing about synthetic oil, I'll look at switching over the next time the car is in the shop.

Thanks for the replies.

As I suspected, it would seem that UK Volvo customers are getting stiffed again. Although the service intervals seem to be longer.
I would like to take it to an independant shop, but the terms of the Volvo UK warranty means main dealer servicing is mandatory for the first 3 yrs or 60,000 miles (which ever comes first).

In Germany you get the service for about DM 800, this is about &#36370 with a full cleaning of the XC. Nice price.

my dealer originally wanted me to come in every 7500 miles, and my drivers manual states that.

THen they swiched "representitives" on me and the new guy has bugged me twice to bring the car in at 3000 and has called me twice to take the car in.   And he only wants me to do the normal routine service.

Then again, i'm not at all pleased with my dealership.   I I had a horrific time buying the car, funny that volvo never called me or sent me mail to evaluate them.

But they did send me a &#3630 off coupon for the service, there was no price listed though

An interesting thread, but in every instance (and in every message) the US Dollar amount is absent and replaced with a square symbol. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi Kevin,

This thread is from the original version of the forum database from a couple years ago and a few of the characters got munched in the conversion... http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Coastal,

Many thanks. I hadn't noticed that I was in the 2001 messages and thought I was in the July '03 section.
