rear differential leak

I have noticed oil around my rear differential.The dealer quoted $1,100 to repair it .They must remove exhaust and a lot of stuff to get to it.Is this normal repair cost.They will clean and reseal.I just cleaned the area to see exactly where the leak comes from.It must be slow as I have not seen it in 25 miles or so.I will keep on monitoring the area.Thanks for any info.

Forgot to mention it's a 2004 xc70 with 117,000 kilometers.thanks

Sounds about bang on. $50-100 in parts, $1,000 in labour (7-8hrs).
