Anyone found any good year round tires for the 19" sport wheels. The pirelli's are just terrible.
I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks

We just bought a 2007 xc90 Sport and it came with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. They rated pretty good on Tire Rack.com and are listed as Ultra high performance All-season tires.

thanks. I think the Conti extremecontact DWS is the best option for me. Don't want to give up too much of the performance, but want better tread life than the sucky Pirellis and ability to handle light snow, as I occasionally get north and can't be limited by a summer tire when it happens. 2 local tire shops said that Pirelli used to make great tires, but they would never recommend them anymore.
Basically all that is available to me here is:
oem pirellis- expensive, hydroplane too easily, I have had 2 pairs, each lasting 20k miles w/ rotation, they just plain suck $1300.
Conti DWS- great reviews, best treadlife of all tires here, very good price $1000.
Michilens- wicked expensive, better than pirellis, but not worth $1450.
firestones, Dest St- cheap, no reviews $930.
general grabber UHP- apprantly good for the $, but not meant for snow $915.
Hope this is helpful to the next guy. Love the sport, but like any performance oriented volvo, the tires are the suck

Wow only 20k on the Pirellis?! That is bad!
So far I like the performance of the Continentals....we haven't had any snow yet, but I am sure these will do just fine. At $206 each that is not bad at all!

Almost done with the Conti DWS. Treadlife in practice on a V8 sport doesn't last that much longer then the OEM Pirellies
