Door trim damage

I had noticed some small splits in the trim on the driver's door just below the window on the inside. When I asked the dealer about it, I was told that this was caused by the seatbelt buckle hitting the door when it retracted.

Anybody had the same problem and what did you do. Is the dealer giving me a runaround?

I have a small similar nick. There is no recourse for you at the dealer.
