My 99 XC70 has about 130k miles.
Had to clean the ETM module at Volvo's expense and repair the ABS module at my expenses. Other wise with correct maintenance vehicle has been very good and is a daily driver.-Dick

Nice, low mileage car.[thumbup]

Timing belt needs to be changed ASAP (for time, not mileage, 7 years).
Check the suspension
Check the AC evaporator
CHECK ALL VACUUM LINES
Check your E brakes for rust
Check the breather (PCV) system
Clean the throttle body (ETM)
Check the heater core and do a major service, plugs, fuel filter, air and cabin filters, etc.
In other words do a stage 0..... (look it up).

Thanks for the feedback, they have just delivered mine and it looks great, its Green, not a spot of rust to be seen, interior is emaculate, as to is the engine, very impressed to find it has a 6cd changer, not had time to give it a good run yet, but cant wait till tomorow, just got to get a towbar now for towing my caravan.
cheers,

So what do you think? I'm about to go buy my own 1999 Volvo V70XC with 88k miles! Black on black beauty, but I'm a bit concerned about reviews talking about issues with the AWD system...

Only had mine for a week, changed the plugs and it time for a service, but it drives like a dream, so at the moment i am well cuffed with it. i am going to get a towbar fitted after Christmas, then i'm off towing my caravan, can't wait. best of luck with your purchase.[happy]

It's impossible to foretell the future on an individual vehicle but only obtain trends from large collections of data. It really depends on how tolerant you are to problems with vehicles. If you use them in harsh winter conditions then you want the most reliable vehicle you can get. My wife drives our 99XC70 but we have had it from new and impeccable service so I know what the state of the vehicle is. I would not purchase one used that I did not have access to the entire factory records of maintenance. Hope this helps.-Dick
