Break in tips for 2004 ?

Any tips would be appreciated. I read the manual but all it really stated was not to use cruise control or stay at one constant speed for the first 1000-1500 miles....

I broke in my 2002 XC the same way I do all my new cars.

I always drive a mix of city/highway gently for 500 miles, gradually start driving harder increasing rpm from 500 to 1000 miles and then change the oil to synthetic Mobil 1 (new car formula this time around), which I change every 5000 miles or six months whichever comes first. Works for me, YMMV.
