VIDA question

After 4 years my love/hate relationship with my 2000 XC 70 SE continues. I bought VIDA and VADIS discs from a seller on Ebay. I thought I was going to pop the disc in my computer and start working on my car. Wrong. It analyzed my computer and said I had VISTA and needed Window XP Professional Sp2. I wasn't surprised. God I miss the good old days of opening a Haynes manual and busting some knuckles.
So, is there anyway to get around this DVD so I can get to work or do I have to figure out how to download Windows XP Professional Sp2? I'm not a mechanic but I'm really not a computer savy person.

Buy an old, used XP laptop for $100 somewhere.

You could try running it in Compatibility mode to see if that works.

i had it running on vista and now on windows 7.
on vista I had to install some visual basic files, but it was a while ago, so now I do not remember which files those were exactly.
On Windows 7 It was a simple install nothing more.
one thing is that id does not like to be minimized. the vadis screen turns to white and it does not respond. I have to kill the process. No big deal, I just use "windows button{ to bring other applications to top. I also pring topics to PDF files.
