I just received my newly remanufactured head from clearwater to replace the old one that fell victim to bad timing belt.
My question is, how do I know if the cams are in the proper position when I bolt on the cam sprockets?
This is on a 1998 v70 xc 2.4 turbo.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Joe

I figured it out. The slits in the cams on the drivers side of the car must be parallel to the ground. This will give you a 50/50 chance its in the right position. Place the sprokets up to the cam and see where the marks are; if they are in the correct position then the cam is good. If they are 180 degrees out then the cam must be rotated out the 180.
I did this before I put the head in the car and then marked the 12:00 position on the cam. Very easy once I thought about it a little.
So far so good, car runs great. I just hope I dont have anymore major issues.
