Engine sputters (misses) on acceleration

Hi,

Got me a 2006 Volvo XC with 209,000 kilometes on it. When I accelerate hard it misses every once in a while. I have just changed all the plugs and it is still doing it. Runs fine and accelerates without hesitation or misses when accelerating normally ...but if you are hitting the on ramp to the highway it acts up....any one have any idea as to what I might check? I had the same issue at 85,000 miles and changing the sparkplugs fixed it. Sounds like a classic high-voltage problem, so it might be a coil-pack. There were some postings recently on that topic - don't know if there is a code triggered for that.

Thanks. I will try that....it may help with my gas milage as well...my pig is burning 12.9 liters per 100 kilometers. I commute 100 k per day each way and my wallet is getting empty.

You might want to check and see if there are any related software updates as well.

Same problem happened to me. The whole car would shudder upon acceleration, or even idling. However it happened on and off. Also, we were getting about 15.5 mpg. HORRIBLE gas mileage. turns out it was a bad injector AND coil pack. Now, its smooth, and we're getting about 19.5mpg. much happier. Get the codes checked first though
