I have been having some front end vibration over the last week or so, I have had the tires balanced twice, with no change. So I did some more investigation and my search on the site had me look at the axles. Sure enough the passenger side boot closest to the transmission was ripped wide open.

So here is my question, I am on a road trip in Colorado right now and would like to be able to take it to my mechanic when I get back in about a week. Are there any temporary band-aids I can use until I get back home? Or will driving the car as it is cause any further damage?

I appreciate any feedback.

Also what will this axle replacement likely cost me at a Volvo shop?

Not really and possibly
If you can find a lift and a new inner boot clamp, you could shove some grease, repack it and push it back in where it belongs.
That would help....otherwise it's the luck of the draw
