Brace in Engine Compartment

What is the name of that brace that spans from the top of one front wheel strut to the other, above and at the rear of the engine? And should I be able to wiggle it back and forth?

It serves two functions, a mount for the upper engine torque bracket and a strut brace. Neither function works spectacularly, the torque bracket wears out every 30K miles or so and as a strut brace it has too much movement to be very effective. IPD provide upgrades to the torque bracket mounting and the bracket itself to make it more effective.
