I was just wondering if there are any consumer laws or warranty issues if I remove the big yellow warning stickers in my XC70? It kinda ruins the aesthetics of the interior especially the one on the passenger side.

Once you own the car you can do as you please. You can use rubbing alcohol and some elbow grease to get them off.

Mine didn't even make it out of the parking lot at the FDC in Sweden... http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/happy.gif
No solvents or elbow grease needed in my case - though I guess it may be a bit trickier if it's been worn in for several months or more

i left mine at the dealers as well!
Even if they've been on for a while I think you should have no trouble removing them. There's one on our car somewhere too...

The funniest warning sticker I've ever had was on a canadien spec VW Golf: "Depress the clutch when starting the engine!" (of course also in French) http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
I think it shows how few manuals are sold.
Nice little car though and sort of a collector's item now with that sticker. Sold it when I left the netherlands.

You know the attachments on pillows and matresses that say DO NOT REMOVE? Same thing, take them OFF. In retrospect, I never had to remove mine, the dealer did it! -Dick

I removed mine and was issued a fine by the MD DMV in the amount of $25.00 when I brought the car in for an emissions inspection last month.

I presume this is an April Fool's joke, right?

OK, I took the sticker off the passenger side but I will leave the ones on the visors on since they are not as noticeable. Don't want to be liable for injury down the line when I potentially pass this car on to another owner.

I believe it's this way for all manuals these days. My S60R stick shift 6-speed cannot be started unless the clutch is depressed. Mind you, there's no Govt. sticker warning you about this.

here's a popular product for removing stickers... especially those Chinese Characters on Honda's and Acura's with BIG Airplane Stabilizers and Coffee Can size Mufflers. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
