Every 600 miles of highway driving my coolant reservoir is near the 'Min' mark.
No obvious signs of a leak; could this be the pressure cap wearing out? 112K miles on it.
Has anyone else had to replace the cap or do they usually last forever?

The plastic ends are crimped onto the sides of radiator--look near the bottom of passenger side. I've been topping up my '04 every couple of months for over 1 year now. No visible leak on floor but the belly pan or something captures the fluid, then it evaporates due to the engine heat.

My son's V70 had a similar almost undetectable leak and it was at the radiator crimping.

Add dye, pressurize coolant system, search with UV light

Unfortunately, our coolant loss was traced back to a water pump failure.

Thanks -

Glycol is cheap enough I guess I'll live with it until the radiator needs to be replaced anyway.

... mine was traced to a hairline crack in the coolant expansion bottle. It was replaced (together with a new cap) and the problem disappeared.

Just to be sure, check that when you turn your heater on you don't smell a sweet glycol odor. I was loosing coolant when I first got my 01 and it turned out to be leaky O-Rings for the hoses going to the heater core. I would assume it is most likely a leaky radiator or coolant bottle, but it might be worth checking out.

My Volvo XC 70 (2001) was giving a coolant warning about every 4 weeks.
Traced to the radiator seals failing, cured by replacing the radiator at about
$930AU. No sign of any leaks, ie coolant on the ground, in the engine bay.
