I've got an 06 V8 xc90 and I'm curious as well (not to hyjack or anything). Would these procedures be the same for the V8? What are the service interval on these fluid changes?

dont see why it would be different. dont know about service interval but a tube of the fluide costs $25 ish a new dem/haldex is $1400-2000, $825 used....its obvious where i am going with this :P

So I changed the fluid in my differential and my angle gear.
(I will do the Haldex AOC next).

I got the fluids from Volvo.

Volvo calls them 'lifetime' fluids.

We can discuss the service interval until we are blue in the face. I would do it every 30K-40K, some might stretch that to 50K.

All these housing only have fill plugs, there are no drain plugs. I bought a decent vacuum pump to suck the fluids out, and I pumped fresh fluid in or used a funnel with an extension tube. How-to here below pretty well captures it.

Does this address your question?
