I plan on driving my 01 until it blows up! These volvo engines are rock solid so I am hoping to get 200K miles in the next month or so. My ultimate goal is at least 300K miles out of this car before I even consider something newer! :D

No, the 2001 V70 is not a bad car at all.[thumbup]

It gets a bad rap because is the first year model of the P2 platform, Volvo sold a lot of them and you see a vocal minority that frequent these chat boards complaining about every thing that breaks in the car.

I am sure there are lots of 2001 V70 owners that don't frequent these boards and they are happy with their V70's, thus they are the silent majority.

My 2002 BMW 530, would leak oil through the valve cover, oil pan, oil filter, etc, the coolant reservoir and bleeding screws and hoses were made of hard plastic and would leak frequently, etc, etc. Common complaints about bimmers, but guess what, still great cars.

Yeah, they really, (in general), ARE that bad
You will always find a few that were/are fine but for the most part they have their issues (and I do NOT mean just tranny issues).
