Geely have always said they would open a Volvo plant in China if they were successful with the buyout. They have also said they will keep the two European plants going, with the one in China intended for (their hoped for) local demand. Keep in mind Volvos are already made in China. S40s and S80Ls are made in a Ford-owned plant. Persumably at the very least - any new Chinese plant would take over the production of these models.
