Do you think we're ready for *that* much goodness over here? I'd have to buy one just to support the effort, on principles, but I've come to know that I stand in a very small crowd on things like this.

A manual five cylinder turbo-diesel would be the best thing ever.

Up to a point, it is a matter of taste, I had the choice but the petrol engine is far more to my liking.
Furthermore and not unimportant, in order to make a diesel car economic, a car must drive a higher
mileage per year and I (by far) don't reach that limit. I suppose this can be different in other countries.

100 years to the average European is not a long time at all while to us it's considered "old"!
100 miles to the average North American is hardly a long distance

I will believe a diesel XC70 when I see it. Until then I plan to purchase a diesel Golf when available for running around and leave my 03XC for off road and snow.-Dick
