Greetings. I've read the posts on changing rear wheel bearings. I have a 2005 XC90 2.5T AWD model. LR bearing is going out at 38,000 miles. I have the tire off and emergency brake set, with tire on the scissors jack. Am ready to take the brake caliper bolts loose, but don't know how to loosen the emergency brake enough per forum guidance in order to get the calipers off the rotor. Any step by step guidance MUCH appreciated.

There are a couple bolts on the back [inside] side of the rotor assembly that I gather I need to remove in order to back the rotor off the hub. From there, I gather I need to press the old bearing out of the housing and press in the new bearing. Any guidance pertaining to these steps also MUCH appreciated. I can't afford to spend the $180 to buy a new housing and bearing assy.

Also, how do you separate the bearing housing from the rotor, or do you need to in order to remove the bearing?

Thanks for any help provided.

John
