Which way does the Volvo cabin filter (p/n 30630752) insert into the housing? It is totally different from the old filter (9204626) as it has a large angled plastic edge on one side and a v-shaped plastic edge on the other. Thanks in advance.

I think the 2 part numbers refer to different filters, 30630752 is a charcoal filter to be used in a car equiped
with the Interior Air Quality System. The other filter is a more standard pollen filter for cars without IAQS.
Each filter has its own location in one of the slits of the cabin air filter housing.
I fear you may have the wrong filter!

30630752 is the small filter, 30630754 is a large filter according to Volvo. The old part no. in the original post is superceded by 752. 752 is not charcoal activated, just a white filter paper. After some work, it does fit. The large plastic angled part goes up with the slope (angle) facing the passenger side. This is specific to a LH drive vehicle.
