Coolant type?

I need to add a little coolant and am 100 miles away from a dealer and don't have any Volvo coolant. What type of coolant would be compatable with the Volvo stuff that is in there now? If I were to drain the Volvo coolant and replace it with new, what type should I use other that the Volvo brand?

When I replaced mine I went with Zerex G-05.

We've used Prestone 50/50 forever, works very well. I'm nearly certain it says it is compatible with any other color coolant.

Any no/low silicate coolant is fine....it doesn't have to be Volvo....there's nothing special about it!! DO NOT USE DEXCOOL (or its equivalent)!!!!!! And don't mix ethylene and propylene types.....will make gel.
