Does anyone have a smart and inexpensive option for providing a side and/or rear cargo net in the cargo compartment?

My dealer wants to sell me a "complete cargo system" for close to $500. I can't believe that - I wonder if it's gold plated. All I want is a cargo net that will prevent things from rolling around.

Pics would be great!

Thanks

The side net (Cargo Management) system costs a bunch, b/c it's got metal attachments and stuff you need to buy. But the plain old Luggage net costs less than $100.

$75 here in fact: http://vparts.dealerfit.com/store/volvo-xc70-v70-accessories-cat126_2144.php

The "system" is this:

Plus side net that attaches to it:

Heard from my dealer's part dept. that it's overrated and expensive. You NEED the attachment points to attach the net.

I did take the cargo system. I have the side net in the photo, and also a net divider/shelf. It goes across the cargo area standing vertically to portion off a front and back section, or it can mount on the upper brackets in a horizontal position to make a "shelf" for lighter items. It seemed like a really versatile and cool option, but the reality is that I hardly ever use it. If it's mounted in the lower brackets (standing vertically) it prevents you from accessing the neat storage compartment by the spare. The side net is okay, though. Not nearly as generous as the nets in my '98 XC70, but enough to hold some useful staple items for easy access. I would probably still take the side net, but it may be cheaper/easier to work out your own storage options.

I used a Yakima cargo net and I spent maybe $25. Yes, it's red, no fancy hardware, but who cares, I'm holding cargo. I just couldn't spend close to $100 for a cargo net. Yes, I'm cheap! :D
