Zooming noise

Hi,

I have a new XC 70 D5, purchased a week ago. On the moment I have 1000km.
When I stopped the engine, there was a zooming noise coming from the middle of the dash. Located behind the buttons of the airco.
After 2 hours, It's still there. Does anybody knows if this is normal. Is there anything you can do about it.

Sounds as if the noise you're experiencing is similar to the one found in this thread (http://xc70.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=1433;hl=fan+blower), though it doesn't appear to be related to the passenger compartment blower.

On my new XC70 I have noticed a humm when entering the car before start-up. It sound just like a radio/ amplifier sitting still powered up doing nothing. The sound is indeed coming from behind the radio/heater console (not speakers) and so feint as to be un-noticable unless you listen for it. I have discounted it so far assuming it is one of the electronic gizmo's working. any comments?
