I see no ECM-56AA code listed from this car in the following Volvo OBDII code table. Are you sure you got the right code? Year + car info would help just to be clear.

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum. Lots of info here. How did you get that code? Like Howard said, it is not the usual format for the car.

The way I got the code was to connect by BSR PPC diagnostic tester to the car, and read codes. That is waht it came up with. I have contacted BSR and they say it may be a ghost code which means nothing. It is close to other codes relating to oil level sensor, so I am wondering if it has something to do with that. The Volvo workshop did replace an oil sensor recently. But how does the unit come up with a code that is not in the manual?
