Can cargo 12V be installed in 2008 XC70?

I am considering buying a 2008 with 14K miles, it has pretty much everything I want on it except the cargo 12V. Can this be added afterwards?

I asked the dealer and they said they couldn't do it, the wiring is not there, are they pulling my leg? If they can't do it, where would I go to get it done?

Sorry kersti, I simply assumed that the cars were pre-wired. I can't say for sure but I seem to recall that the 12v aux socket kits used to come complete with all wiring/diagram, connector, etc... Check with your dealer to see if the kits are available for your MY.
