Hi,
My 04 xc70 (100,000kms) is currently in for service and the Dealer is advising that the center bearing is failing and needs replacement. The only method of replacement is by replacing the entire driveshaft - is this correct?. Supply and install is $1700 CND. I just replaced the blower fan ($500) front outer CV joint ($700) and the rear wheel bearings ($1000) all this month. If there is a cheaper way of fixing the center bearing i would appreciate hearing from you.
i have searched different threads but can seem to find an answer specifc to an '04. it would appear that older models you could repalce the center bearing seperatley from the drive shaft but somewhere along the line you now have to repalce the drive shaft. Just wanting to confirm before i dish out the cash.
Thanks.
