dim unit faulty

I have a 2002 volvo xc70. A few months ago "SRS Service Urgent" came up. I was told it was a switch problem with display unit so ignored. Now just as my car has turned 100,000 miles the DIM unit (drivers information module) is intermittently shutting down. I have been quoted over £700 to fix. My internal sat nav is also reading "can't read disk".
Does anyone know where to purchase a DIM unit?
Any thoughts on the sat nav? :(

My 03 started flashing the same thing about a year and a half ago...I've been driving uneventfully since. When I initially took it in, the tech also told me DIM, to the tune of about $800.

Another tech later told me it was more likely CEM, which scares me even more; unfortunately, the family budget doesn't have that kind of cake to dish out right now, so I'm crossing my fingers oftentimes when I get behind the wheel....
