Swapping out HU-803's

My son decided to use our 803 radio as a piggy bank with usual consequences. CD's won't play even after I removed all the change.

I've bought a replacement from flea-bay that is said to work. Can I

a) unplug the existing unit
b) plug in the new unit

and expect everything to work ok or will I require a visit to a Volvo shop with VIDA/VADIS?

(of course, I'll be following proper battery disconnect procedures).

Sorry but the radio needs to be programmed, such as a software download. Is really stupid how Volvo needs a software for everything! Good Luck! VADIS/VIDA shows replacement of a radio unit requires "SW" software.

Interesting, I did a HU803 to HU833 (with MD player) exchange without any S/W download, so I don't think the same model exchange (HU803 to HU803) will need it? :confused:
