VADIS reports that the oil pump in my ( 2003 48K) is throwing a fault code and therefore not engaging the rear half of the AWD. Have ordered the pump kit, #30783079-4, and am wondering if anyone has a diagram or photos of the layout of the Haldex.

My copy of VADIS shows the oil pump kit part number as 8689664 but my copy was produced in 2003 and is probably quite out of date...

I just took the # off the receipt from the dealer. Does your copy of VADIS have instructions on replacing the pump?

What made you decide the problem was with the pump?

What was the code being thrown?

I sure would look at that sensor module before I start to take apart the Haldex

i don't know the code that was thrown. I did check the sensor module that gets plugged with snow/dirt in the AOC, is that what you meant JRL? does anybody have a schematic of the Haldex?

Yes, R U sure that's not the culprit?

I am reasonably sure but will re-check before pulling the oil pump. Which looks fairly easy (compared to pulling the bevel gear -really easy). What kind of oil goes in the Haldex? Same as the diffs? Thanks Bill. Thanks JRL.

The oil for the Haldex (Active on Demand Coupling) is NOT the same as for the differential. It is a specific oil for the AWD clutch. The Volvo part number for 300 ml is 1161641. With my limited knowledge I wouldn't consider attempting to identify an equivalent alternate product.

There is a o-ring kit too that you may need if replace the pump. Also two tubes of the AOC Haldex oil.

Can't comment on whether or not that is your problem. Sorry.
