2001 Xc v70 cargo divider in 2009 Xc

Just wondering if my old cargo divider will wotk in new v70 XC t6? I have light net divider (wife noesn't like metal one) that we used in 2001 v70xc and rather then buying new I could re-use it. Anyone has any experience with this?

Judging from the installation diagrams, it doesn't look like it would work. The redesigned two piece, cassette-type cargo net for the 2008+ MY attaches to fittings in the backs of rear seats,

….whereas the older version uses straps secured to the lower cargo mounting eyelets to hold it down.
