Hi Everyone,

The tranny on my 01 is clunking and I am getting ready to bring it in to the shop to have it looked at.

The local stealership said that they would diagnose it for $118.00 per hour. Is this a reasonable rate?

I live in the Seattle-Tacoma area and was wondering if someone knew of another shop that I could bring it to?

Thanks,
Brian

Local dealers here charge minimum of 1 hr for diagnostics and labor is around $100/hr. That's why I go to the reputable indie shop whenever possible.

Why not take it back to the organization you bought it from. I am certain that it would be most happy to diagnos your concern for a truly reasonalble price.

What is their shop rate and expertise in Volvo AWD transmision issues? If they are very good and very reasonable you have answered your own questions and don't have to go to the big, bad dealership.
