I've got an '05 XC70 with the CEL that just came on last night. I've got a code reader and this is what it found:

ECM-436B Leak diagnostic unit.Signal Missing

Can anyone tell me what that is? I've been searching and only found 1 post which sounds like it has something to do with the fuel pump, but not certain. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

ECM-436B Leak diagnostic unit.Signal Missing

It's telling you that the signal is missing for the leak diagnostic unit which is a pump that pressurises the evap system in order to check the system for leaks. By the signal missing, it means that either the unit is shot, or that there is no voltage getting to it for it to operate. It does NOT mean that there is a leak in the evap system. Just that the unit can't operate. Head to dealer.

Dave.

Thanks everyone for responding. I cleared the code last weekend and we've put a few hundred miles on the car since and no CEL. I think I'll wait for it come back again before I do anything about it. At least you guys have provided me some insight as to what the code means. I appreciate it!! [thumbup]
