Bet somebody at Volvo is kicking themselves for closing their assembly plant in Halifax, Nova Scotia back in 2000. It had assembled cars since the 60s as a NA-assembly dodge so that Volvo could qualify as a NA manufacturer. A rumour from a guy I knew who worked there was that the plant could have been expanded in both capability and capacity and would have been able to at least supply the eastern North America market.

The other thing is that I wonder if Tata will market a different set of Land Rovers to North America. Would love to get my hands on a diesel Discovery. Actually would prefer a Defender but that will never happen as long as NA has these ridiculous safety rules that are different then EU standards.
