In the wee hours of Jan 01,2002 while driving in a snow storm here in Newfoundland my ABS brake system failed. The ABS indicator light came on and the message display told me that the system had failed. In addition to this the message the system told me that the EMISSION Sytsem had failed and as well later another message that the main BRAKE system has also failed.!!! In all cases, except the ABS issue, the car appeared to be operating normally. The dealer later diagnosed the problem as a failed ABS COMPUTER. There is no replacement part available in Canada and they are now trying to source same in the USA.... If no luck there then it has to come from Sweden....what a time to be without ABS brakes in the middle of a Newfounsland Winter!!!
Has anyone on the list had this problem or heard of anyone having it. Also where could I get the part numbers for the ABS Computer for the 2001 XC and also for the 2002 XC.
