Replacing Brake Pads

Hey all. Doing the brakes on my bud's V70XC tomorrow, just wondering if there's any trick to resetting the caliper, or if its just the same straight up vice grips and manliness that does the job? This is for the fronts, by the way.

no special tricks, same as any other disc set up. i would recommend c-clamps as opposed to vice-grips.

btw, rears are just as simple.
