Hey, love this site.  Just found it.  We have a 2002 XC and it's great.  We've belatedly realized, though, that we should have gotten the third-row seats.  I'm not up to installing that sort of thing myself, and since we're out here in Estonia for another 18 months, I'm wondering: how long will a U.S. dealer be able to install this?  Do I have another couple of years before we miss the chance forever?  (Also, anyone have any idea how much this would cost, more or less?)  Thanks!

I would imagine that you could easilly add it in a couple of years.  I don't think they've changed at all.

My local VA dealer - Don Beyer Volvo in Dulles - told me when I was buying my XC last September that they can install third row seat in any Volvo station vagon, even 240 circa '80s.

I installed one in our 850 a couple of years ago. Not that difficult. Took about 3 hours. Pricing right now is about $1000US for the kit. I got lucky, a couple of years ago, the market got flooded with 3rd seats for 850/V70s and I was able to buy one for $200. Maybe history will repeat?

Hey, thanks.  Good sites.  Next question: Can I get the 3rd row seats AND a full-size spare?  (I know, I know.  I shoulda thought of this stuff a long time ago&#33http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I'm not sure about 3rd row and spare tire, but I wouldn't bother to replace the donut with a full size spare. Like mine, your V70XC is equipped with viscocoupling AWD which require to replace ALL four tires if you have a major blowout on one of them, although they're maybe half thread remaining. And with very rough roads here in Québec, I never had a flat tire in 15 years and sold my previous cars with brand new full size spare tire! Waste of money IMO.
