If those were the only categories, then I guess Pop/Rock, and it would probably have to be more along the lines of the pop/rock that is played on radios here in Europe (lots of 80s and 90s stuff mixed in with today's hits). Although, and not on your list, I tend to lean more towards mainstream Country music and would actually prefer that over anything else.

Ciao!

I didn't see Jimmy Buffett listed as a choice. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Anyone have factory XM or Seriius in one of their other vehicles? Thoughts?

I'd love to vote, but those categories don't provide me an adequate choice. I've seen some of the music threads and a great deal of stuff has been discussed, like Badly Drawn Boy or Sigur Ros, that doesn't fit into any of these categories very well.

If I could only listen to one thing at all, it would be a toss up between NPR and Sports. But, if its only music, I'd probably pick some laid back, ambient type stuff.

I put my vote in "Jazz/Blues", but really it would be only blues and not jazz, although every type of blues is good with me (Delta, country blues, contemporary, etc.) http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

You left out two choices:
1. Silence, very useful in today's world. Once in while I listen to WFMT which is oriented to Opera/Classic and has only live announcer read commercials. They changed to canned commercials a few years ago and the hue and cry was so great they changed back.
2. Valentine 1 & CB Radio. My personal favorite as I am generally doing something illegal while driving. -Dick

I forgot to mention that I probably listen to the news (split between NPR and the local CBS affiliate) about half the time. But then that really isn't a musical genre.

First listening choice is CBC Radio 1, then Radio 2. While I enjoy most types of music, the first CD I will play is Queen's Greatest Hits. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/music.gif Just have to keep an eye on the speedometer! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I don't drive the car to listen to the radio, so it doesn't matter whats on because it is always very low, ( I like to listen to the engine purrrring along) but I do have the traffic report on highlight and preset to a high volume so that when I sitting in the jam I know there is an accident up ahead.

There is some serious stuff in this thread, sounds like (no pun intended) some of you guys like sitting in a sound booth rather than getting from A to B as fast as you can http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif

Depending on the type of music you are listening to and the volume you have it at, can affect the way you drive. Singing along to your favourite piece is almost as bad as driving with your cell phone to your ear. Driving without due care and attention http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif is a good cause for getting a speeding ticket http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Aren't some types of music illegal in certain geographic areas?

Our XC would be rendered sterile if I had to choose just one....!

I suppose you can take my cue from the Music Recommendation page....

You left out the most important musical choice!!! WeeTunes! Or Noodles Volume 1,2,3,4,5, or 6 !

Over the months she's now into contemporary jazz (WPFW 89.3) and Classical (103.5) on occasion. For those not in the DC Metro area we have a *great* radio station on FM 89.3 that plays a dynamic array of music. if you are in the area give them a listen, I certainly recommend it. But then, if fanatical liberal thouoghts/dreams/ideas offend you you might not listen to long. Gary Nole is a Nut... thank goodness he's only on during the weekdays.
